What a stunning and original flower macro! The intricate folds, wild spikes, yellow blotches on the "tongue", yellow-orange glow in the roof of the "mouth"--everything just works. It might have been a little bit better centered. Great looking photo!

This type of flower photography is a cliche. Its really tough doing something anywhere original with flower photography because every guy and his dog has taken a shot at it. Just sticking the lens into the face of the flower and shooting away became hackneyed in about 1955!

Hello Gataen:

I have to agree with David Tan, the sense of depth and modulated color in the thumbnail almost suggests an afternoon photo in a slot canyon. Like your other recent Iris images, the soft texture of the new petals make this a delicate and unusual image.

Well ahead of the average flower macro, good perspective.

nice shot with great texture - so many flowers around right now - even i took a shot at it - but i have noticed only a few worth writing home about - yours included

note to walter - all that can be done with flowers has been done ehhh - i guess we should all just give up and take piano lessons instead ;)
