Hey everyone. I wanted to recrop this shot to see if the crop (and I

believe it does) works better as a portrait of one of my favorite birds, a

tree swallow. Please leave constructive feedback for me. Is it wrong to

crop a bird like this altogether, leaving out the wings and feet for a

closeup of the head? Thanks for your comments.

Interesting question! I see from time to time portrait shots, particularly Eagles heads, so I'm guessing that it isn't wrong at all. For me there is no right or wrong in photography, only a perception of such things by a majority. I see only what I think looks good or doesn't, I don't tend to comment on the ones that don't look good. But for the avoidance of doubt this looks great, wonderful detail in the plumage and very sharp, particularly the eye.
