Forces of Nature

Got up early and drove 2-1/2 hours to get a few sunrise shots at the

shoreline. This is what it looked like shortly after I arrived.

Could not avoid the curvature at the horizon with the 24mm tilted

upward. I did boost the saturation level, didn't have enough visual

impact out of the camera. Comments welcomed and appreciated.

the colour in this is wonderful ... and such dedication too - your efforts have paid off well

'Whoa!' was my first reaction. The cloud has such depth it looks like it's going to attack me.

You caught the rain, the crepuscular rays, the silver lining. If only there were a bolt of lightning too. The saturation is right on the money. I too would have sacrificed a bit of image distortion to include the top of that growing thunderhead. Nice job.

Great composition and color. The storm clouds look almost 3-dimensional with the strong backlighting. Great image.

Way to go! Been looking for a shot like this, and glad you added a description of your trip to the shore. Some of the most beautiful landscapes I've seen here in Florida, are the skys. The best ones were from the air but I never got a picture except in my memory.

An exceptionally well done addition to your excellent portfolio. Your triple filter combo really captured both the delicacy of the morning light and the power of the building thunderhead. .

I love it. The rain falling, combined with the dark water remind me of a 1868 painting by Martin Johnson Heade titled "Thunderstorm on Narragansett Bay", however this photograph is much more optimistic.

This is really nice, Ronnie. The colors and composition are great. Although it's just a rainstorm, it's pleasing to the eye - and that's all that really counts. Nice work.

Excellently captured cloudscape. If anything there is too much going on in the picture, with the sea plus shore landscape, the storm, and several different sky tones. It was too good a scene to pass up, but there is something unsatisfying about it as an image.
