In this case I tried a gloomy and dreamy look trying to use the rose as a

sexual metaphore. I wonder if I succeed. Thank-you in advance for your

answers and ratings.

Personally, I don't think you hit your goal as stated.

This photo is rich in color saturation, but a little soft in focus.  May be intentional for your purpose.  The white spot just left of center is also distracting.

agree with the previous comment. comparing with the other rose it seems destroying the focus was your choice. but somehow, this does not turn out to be gloomy. nice macro, though. compliments --koushik

Hi Vince and tnx for your comment. Actually I wanted a soft focus, the metaphore asked for it. On the other hand what you call a white spot is the light reflection in the dewdrop.

the focus on the drop is not clearly defined, but the idea is very good. Ciao! Elena

Hi Elena,

you are right, but is very difficult to have a general soft focus and a small sharp area when more elements are on the same focus plane. I should have shot very sharp and then I should have post produced the picture with PS and some masking techniques (you know I'm quite a magician about them) to have both the hen and the egg.

Unfortunately in this period I'm very oriented, ideologically,to a PP minimalism versus a greater in-camera attention...

...nothing better, when everything around you is getting confused, than to be iron-steady in the most subjective matters!  :-))

Thank-you for your comment,

Mauro
