Marvin, thanks. But I've seen your work, and I believe you can do it! You even have my old 100-400 with IS, ad the same 50D I currently shoot. You do good work. The secret is to find a birdbox with a few of these guys hanging around. Set up about 10ft behind it, and as they come in, eventually it's a traffic jam and one will slow up as it gets close. Ah crap, I've revieled my secret! LOL! This set is all taken near Hanover, Pa. Take care and thanks.

Hi Kenneth,

Now this one is truly magnificent.  Despite your disclaimer to the contrary, this kind of photo takes some considerable skill and of course, the usual ingredient: patience.   I know how fast these little guys can move, so you need to pat yourself on the back.  I do wish I had a box full of tree swallows (or any species of swallow) nearby too...  Congrats on a remarkable image!

Oh, and thanks for your comments on my portfolio.  I will take your thoughts to heart and work on it further.

Best regards,

Dennis
