Screech Owl

Please view large. This was one of the hardest bird shots I ever

worked on. He was so hidden by the leaves in the deep woods.Using a 7D

with 100-400mm Canon L at 365mm focal length and a monopod. The light

was low, but he wasn't moving, I was able to get away with 100 ISO at

f/5.6 and only 1/15sec using IS. Perhaps I could have chosen a higher

ISO, but I didn't want any noise. He was so well hidden, I wonder how

many hikers walked by him without seeing him that day. I hope you
