This is one of a series of four pictures I took of this small meadows' flowers

(whose name, btw, it's unknown to me). My intention was to play with the

DOF to obtain an artistic interpretation of the reality. Don't know if I succeeded

so I'd like to know your opinion.

I'm not sure that this one works for me. Personally, I find the two large unfocused flowers in the foreground a little distracting - they tend to draw the eye away from the beautifully in focus flower in the centre.

But, of course, with an image like this one people's opinions will differ wildly.

Hi Gary and thank-you for your clear and honest opinion.

I see your viewpoint and in some way I share it. I mean that, even if I wanted and want to have a defocused subject in the very foreground to frame the main subject, the two blossoms you refer to are actually too invasive and I see that the effect is far from what I wanted.
