I'm not sure about the green tinges on the flower...IMO I think they take away from the pink. Out of curiousity...did you mean by the title to reference the ice cream-like desert or is there another meaning as well?

Elizabeth, this is beautiful, the delicate shades, the composition, the framing, everything 1st class, well done - Richard.

Wondering if I should have left it pink..Hmmmmmmm,,,,,,

I added some cream & green to make it look like a bowl of sherbert.

Did I achieve that??

i would call it "victorian rose" it has a certain je ne sais quoi about it that says antique ... oh and of course ...it looks wonderful

colours are great as is imho ...only improvement ... a possible change of frame to something more delicate ...but thats totally immaterial to the image.. not judging the frame

Yes I think you reached your goal. Beautiful composition and great effect. Only thing I notice,

is the dark edge along the petal near the top. Also, I agree the frame is not the best for this

image. I think it doesn`t need a frame at all. 6/6

Flowers are a subject that I'm fairly tough on with my rating, so I feel obliged to offer a word of explanation for my 4/3. Flowers are perhaps the easiest subject to photograph, just pick one from the garden, put it on a table and shoot. They don't move, so you can experiment with lighting and angles easily. This is a straight on, single bloom, perhaps one of the most unoriginal ideas for a picture ever. High originality requires more than this. The colourisation is nice in a trite sort of way, the introduction of colours that weren't there have added a little interest. The heavily pixelised brown blurring in the corners is not attractive to me, and brings the aesthetics down.

Way to go, Miller

Third try to congratulate you.

You get a gold star on your forehead for composition, lighting, clarity, color selection and your unique recreation of the old "handcoloring style." Your framing and compatible color choices are simply excellent.

To the flower denigrators; four months of allergies.

Hope you get this one.
