Pnina, most striking (to me) are the colors.  The green window has a combination of shades sometimes seen in Chagall's works -- along with the striking red.  The  angles as well as her expression and left hand are great.  Is she the creator/director -- something more than actress/dancer?

Hi Pnina!

You've got this "bird" in a perfect way! I believe she can't fly but, anyway, I like this photo scene a lot!

Best regards!

You are capturing something else which someone else has created and therefore have to bring in something of yourself to be successful.  What you have done, from my perspective, is to choose an exquisite moment.  Presumably this comes from what seems as an intimate knowledge of the work.  The expression is priceless.  I love the subtle colours of the background and foreground contrasted with the striking and arresting colours that she wears. There are no distracting elements.  The drama of her arm and hand upraised.

I am envious of your having seen this production.

Excellent, indeed !

Thanks for your nice impression Donna, she is a dancer of Sally's group at this production.

Joao, thanks for your comment it is the story( Please  read the link) which is about a  swallow and a group of birds , this is  one of the birds....

Jim, thanks for your right commentary and impression  I work a lot and like to work with different artists and give my point of view to chosen moments from the whole production. As I work with some constantly I see some of the dances more than once. This is one of the choreographies that I love and sow it 4-5 time at least....;-))It is  very much worth seeing!

Pnina, this is surely among you best works.  You have used the stage props in conjunction with the actress to create the illusion that the bird is trapped within an abstract painting. Terrific light, great tones and texture.

Pnina, I agree with others that you have chosen the best viewpoint, showing the bird seemingly trapped between the two triangular areas. Her expression is perfectly captured. The color of her costume works really well against the painted textures of the scenery.

Thansk Both of you for your nice written impressions and feedback.

This is a scene that the dancer/bird enters the stage for the  birds meeting....

I agree with what Gordon. The composition is here stands out and what is obviously a 3-D stage situation becomes like a 2-dimensional canvas. The colors sing and for me the geometry in itself is a pleasure but the way it offsets her gesture and expression is what really strikes me here. The perspective is strong, where the top black space of the photo plays an important role, especially as relates to her hand.

Mario,  for stopping by and liking it.

Fred, glad you like it and go "hand in hand" ;-)) with Gordon's feedback.

Thanks again to both of you.

I just checked this picture and was surprised to find that I hadn't commented on it. I remember seeing this picture some time ago and being impressed by the odd geometry of the set as well as the very expressive face and theatricality of the dancer and the composition as a whole. I don't know, maybe I actually left a comment but forgot to confirm it; it often happens to people my age, you know. But late is better than never and I just wanted you to know that I think it's an exceptional picture..

Just came back home and was very glad to see you active again. Thanks for two very nice (as usual very eloquent) feedback. It happned to me too that I came  back to a photo I was sure I commented on, and find out that I probably forgot to confirm...;-)) so just feel well with it ,it is not necessarily age, it is human life and happends to all of us.

About PN you are right looking at some of my photos from some years ago many of the good photographers are gone, but some of them like you, Gordon and some others are keeping me here. So please don't disappear...;-))
