Not an effect and not one of a sequence of frames with the shutter on

continuous. This is one frame shot with Hannah running and jumping on

the beach. We did this about 5 times but didn't know for sure that we got it

until I processed the film.

is not particulary good (dark face).  In addition I first saw an image similar to this back in the 1950's and I'm sure I've seen one every year since (i.e., you get ZILCH for originality).

Hans-Peter - Thank you for the comment. It is hard getting just the right moment but worth it in the end.

Walter - Thank you for the observation. There is very little that is truly original in photography. This was made at the end of a couple of hours shooting at the beach. I asked her if there was anything she wanted to do for fun and this was one. Hannah likes it as do I dispute the flaws.

It's perfect as it is Mark, running the other way towards the light would give a different view also, possibly with more light on the face, but that's a different picture. 

Its far from perfect and so is life ! That is the beauty of your photo!
