butterflies Giant swallowtail butterfly

Now the lantana is blooming I shall have butterflies all around the

house for the rest of the summer. How did I do with this one?

Very nice work, wonderful colors and detail.

Very good framing and composition! Excellent color. But I think you lost detail that you didn't need to. You shot this guy at F5.6 at 1/2500th. Why? The first thing thing I noticed about this shot was that the focus was on the center wing. The outer wing and the head are out of focus. You could have easily shot at f8-f11 and still been at 1/1000 or even 1/800th. This would probably have given you even better color and detail and the majority of the butterfly would be sharp. But the shot is still a 5/6, but theis would have made the shot a rarely seen butterfly 7/7. Hope this helped. Thanks, and well done!
