Barred owl

I didn't realise that whilst I was peering up into the top branches of

this tree, this owl was sitting almost at eye level watching me; I

took a couple of shots when I saw her, but when I tried to attach my

tripod she left. Suggestions welcomed.

I can really appreciate the quality of this image. Lighting is good along with good technique and composition and I love the hanging material in the background. Top quality work Gillie! Keep it up! Best regards, Rob

My only question is........ if you were getting shots like this.. handheld.. why bother with a tripod??

Thank you all for taking the time to comment, and encourage me!  Grayham, I am trying to carry at least a monopod with me as I am seeing many shots in my files that would have been improved by a steadier hand!  Lucky all round with this picture though.  Gillie
