Thanks for viewing/comments! .... just another Niagara Fall shot (with

emphasis of my interest - bird!) :-)

Hi Tm J,

this must be one of those arrogant-looking bystanders who ask money for having their portrait taken at tourist sites. His look is very condescending and so you must have been glad he yet gave you the opportunity to shoot this panorama. It has turned out beautifully!

Cheers ;-)

Hi TM!

Nice scene, fantastic DOF!

May I ask you why did you took this photo in ISO 50 instead of the "automatic and easy" ISO 100 in the CANON 5D?

Thanks, best regards!

It looks almost as if he is about to do a news commentary or an advertisement. A super capture an at its best on large.

Merci Beaucoup Pierre! Good to hear from you. :-)

Thanks Sam! You sure cracked me up, LOL!

Thanks Joao! I was shooting the fall and then the bird came and did not even think about technicality is the reason. In fact, when the bird flew away is the shot that I wanted but the SS was too low. I normally shoot landscape with ISO 50 and waterfall at 1/6" but Niagara Fall being so much faster I was using 1/30 or so.

Thanks Dora!

A great shot my friend.  I disagree with Pierre in that your photos show much skill, not luck.  You always seem to have the camera settings right and position yourself in the right place at the right time.

Thanks Dominick! I think there are truth in both of what Pierre & You said. It's a mixture or combination of event, it's definitely luck that I got to shoot this particular gull since I tried a bunch but they were much more skittish and shy but this particular fellow is bold and pose for a long time. But then, I can also say with certainty that the other folks (2 or 3 other people) who also took shots of this gull won't have any where close to what I got with this shot because they probably either have the white washed out or won't have the fall in sharp focuse either. I shoot way too many white egret and it's second nature to me to under-expose white object and since I do dabble with landscape I also have a tendency to close down the lense and while I was not thinking much about the SS I know that my exposure was correct to get the white and the whole shot in focus (DOF).  Happy ... shooting my friends!
