pnital 36 Posted April 10, 2012 Lamenta Della Nimfa, by Monteverdi is one of the 8th book of Madrigals.Ye'ela Avital, Soprano, is my prefered singer, one of 5 singers in a new group : Barrocade Vocal. This concert was of love, fire, and death. Music from the Baroque eraThanks for viewing Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 10, 2012 Yizhar Karshon is the head of the group (with Ye'ela) a very good musician playing on the chembalo. Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted April 10, 2012 This is an excellent photograph, full of energy and power presented. There is also an interesting colour tonality. I like the image a lot... as well two others posted above. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 11, 2012 You've really captured the energy of the performance in her expression and body language.. I like the composition here also. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted April 11, 2012 Hi Pnina, I like the composition too -- a lot! There is an invisible line from her face to her left hand that is exquisite. The green enlivens this as well. A zissen Pesach Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 12, 2012 Gunnar ,Pierre, Jack and Donna.I try to give a clue of the beautiful concerts by more than one photo.I'm glad you liked it and felt a tiny bit of it!Donna same to you...I like the language you used...;-)) Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted April 12, 2012 Pnina, I think the energy and position of the hands in this certainly enhances the drama and the intensity on her face. Also the detail of the harpsichord/piano lid in the background, with it's various angles, is a nice touch. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 18, 2012 A very expressive moment caught. Her face, her gestures and concentration. There is a fluidity to her posture and the lines of her arms seem extremely musical to me. Her fingers are like the notes on a staff, relating to the music that sits behind her. The composition gives context, information, and the elements accompanying her relate to her nicely. There's a suggestion of motion which I like.I do see a yellow cast which I think is taking away a little here. A more natural approach to the color of the light, I think, would provide more clarity and lightness to this very nice moment. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 19, 2012 Thanks for your written impressions.I'm glad that I have succeeded in expressing the emotion of Ye'ela while singing ,with the harpsicord music of Yizhar.Fred, the colors are the colors of the hall ,bright brown/beige, so only B/W would have changed it.. but I liked the color version more. Thanks again. Guest Guest Posted April 19, 2012 I don't think it's the case that only b/w would have changed the color issue. If you simply change the color temperature away from yellow you get rid of the cast while remaining true to the original colors of the hall and the piano. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 20, 2012 Thanks for your follow up. I have tried it and it looks less appealing to my eye. I think that it works well with the green of the chembalo, and the brown tone if her dress. Link to comment
