syed 0 Posted April 10, 2012 Great photograph, Les!The lines on the subject's face are just screaming for a digital B&W / high contrast treatment. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted April 10, 2012 I like the B&W version also, but either way is excellent when you have a character like this. Good portrait capture.BR,Holger Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted April 12, 2012 Nice color work. There's a soft, pastel feel to it which seems to highlight a softness about his man and accentuates the texture of his beard. The black and white and higher contrast defeats the essence of what you have, in fact, presented. The more contrasty black and white is a more typical way to treat older wrinkled men and generally sees to it that they are handled as a type rather than an individual. It sucks the life out his relationship to the bakcground here as well, which although somewhat amorphous still serves to locate him in his locale. My only nitpick would be the orange coloration on his neck below the beard which I suppose is some sort of shadow remnant. The blue of his eyes, not overly strong and sensitively shown, reads nicely against his soothing skin tone. Link to comment
