GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted April 9, 2012 Very nice Portrait work Richard.Excellent focus and skin tones, your DOF is a very nice backdrop for this capture.I was in Punta Cana about 30 years ago, (time sure flies !) I enjoyed our vacation there. Did an excursion to Santo Domingo by Bus. I got some good captures (film). One day I hope to share them, but have to get a better film scanner first.I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Nice to see your images again.Warm regards, Gail Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted April 9, 2012 Gail,Thank you! I love the 105. I finally had some time with my camera and some willing subjects.Nice to hear from you! Work has kept me away from here too much and I am going to make an effort to get back into the sing of things here.Hope all is well with you!Dick Link to comment
wogears 186 Posted April 9, 2012 Nice portrait study, but it needs a Levels adjustment, IMO. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted April 9, 2012 Les, thanks! I agree with you! I'm just getting back to this after being mostly absent for about 18 months.Still processing in Aperture 2 and my iMac is not calibrated which makes for some serious guessing.Still having fun, though and looking forward to spending more time with my camera as well as the processing.Regards,Dick Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted April 10, 2012 Welcome back Richard - geez - 18 months away from photo.net. I have been away for much smaller periods of time and I find that the time away has been beneficial for all kinds of reasons. Enroute to your image I was thinking `Bird Photography`.Just a lovely image and I like Les`adjustment with the levels command. Without checking I would guess you used the 105mm.All the best and thanks for stopping by one of my images recently. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted April 10, 2012 Tony,Thanks! I've been hard at work trying to "save" the American health care system...not kidding.I've missed it here very much and feel a bit rusty, but also that I'm back with some old and good friends.I did use the 105 which I really like very much. This shot is from the Paradisus Palma Real Resort in Punta Cana, Domincan Republic. Great vacation and a wonderful place for a camera.I'm going to make time for photography this year and in the future. What a great passtime! All the best!Dick Link to comment
