quadophile1 0 Posted April 8, 2012 Somewhat different than usual tack sharp bird images. Very good use of panning! Link to comment
otto_b 0 Posted April 8, 2012 Excellent shot! A wonderfully smooth sweep. Fantastic the way the photo even picks up on the swans' shadows on the ground. The motion in the photo is just fantastic. No comments, just praise for a great shot! Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted April 9, 2012 Sharpness of animal pictures is no longer a quality criterion, since any small camera produces sharp images. I am trying with pictures like this one to find an alternative Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted April 9, 2012 A super dynamic image of these birds in flight. Superb! Link to comment
simon_benton 3 Posted April 9, 2012 Wonderful photograph - captures perfectly the power and elegance of these magnificent birds. A sharp photo would have no dramatic effect - this conveys flight. Well done! Link to comment
matman1975 0 Posted April 9, 2012 Excellent slow shutterspeed technique! The sharp swan in the middle acts as a point of reference! Well done, great effort. Link to comment
philrichardson 6 Posted April 10, 2012 Dieter, Really like the motion here! Nice job. One head is relatively clear, everything else blurred with motion. Just great! Link to comment
gilliebg 0 Posted April 11, 2012 'Sharpness of animal pictures is no longer a quality criterion, since any small camera produces sharp images'.My initial enjoyment in your panning shot of the swans was spoilt by your patronizing and dismissive remarks about other bird photography. It is apparent to me that you have never driven a boat with your foot, whilst capturing a wonderfully detailed shot of an osprey catching a fish, handholding a D3 with a 300mm 2.8 lens, (see Steve Vincent's photostream), or even teetered on a step ladder, like myself, on a boat, to get pictures of egret chicks in their nest etc. Also, try taking pictures in the near dark with a point and shoot.
