Whatever!!!!

This is a mother with her 2 daughters (twins)

I like this picture and especially the DOF which lifts the three principle players from a busy background. One other feature caught my eye and it's the kind of minor detail that has always facinated me. The right elbow of the girl on the left which is so near the edge of the frame provides a strong three dimensional effect. I think it is because it's separated from the background by a thin strip of lighter color. It really does seem to pull my eye in an arc from right (starting with the mother) to left.

What a unique perspective. The family is beautiful. T he decisive moment when you got the woman in the background with her arms folded mimicking the young girl unintentionally is genius. Everything fits into place nicely and just works!

i'm totally with Jack here, S E, the depth and dimension are awesome here. it's amazing what that elbow can do to create a middle ground between the fg mother and bg cross-armed woman. and the mimicking of the crossed arms, like Carla says, creates a drama; we girls make that gesture when we're giving "the look", lol. great balance to this photography. ;-} dp

Interesting scene. I think that the woman on the right conveys more of a "strength of character" that is not yet conveyed through this depiction of her daughters.
