sidselto 0 Posted April 7, 2012 I find this really interesting. The black and white pattern in the background, the old woman with the dog as a silhouette against the white, the woman in the foreground. There are so many contrasts and connections. Very good.Sidsel Link to comment

gunnar1664882369 1 Posted April 8, 2012 Very interesting high contrast with very fine and artistic result. I like the shadow on the foreground, it is a nice addition to the image in my opinion. As usual in your images the people positions are always on right places. The same here, even the white dog is on black background as it should be;). Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted April 8, 2012 Andrea, this is really interesting with the black and white pattern of the background and the interesting shapes of the arches. I too like the figure in the foreground with the stark shadow and the figure walking the dog and their precise placement in the composition. I wouldn't say that this looks like an image from any Cocteau film that I've seen, but it seems to have an atmosphere reminiscent of some of his writings, and I could certainly see a Stravinsky opera or ballet in the atmosphere. andrea-de-bonis 6 Posted April 9, 2012 thanks a lot for your interesting comments, my friends. and somewhere tony is right, becouse this architecture presents pillars that remind some elements often presents in cocteau drawings (like the one i add). and i couldnt resist when i saw this woman, a sort of modern version of a dandy, sensually eating an apple. sure J.C. had appreciated. thanks again, ciao! 3m 0 Posted April 9, 2012 I can understand that you must have been happy seeing the apple eating lady in the chair there, Andrea :-) She really adds to, & makes for a very strong composition in your photo, which appeals to me a lot for its strong graphic overall effect... I too like the various elements visible -- they seem to tie the photo together perfectly: lady on chair -- person with dog -- wall structure beyond -- & building at the RHS... A cool photo & a very strong composition, Andrea -- Bravo!(PS: one tiny remark though: did you crop the picture at all.. as I might have welcomed seeing a tad more of the building, at the right, for an even stronger balance perhaps..? -- I didn't know that there was a Cocteau museum in Menton...) andrea-de-bonis 6 Posted April 9, 2012 mar, ciao and thanks! about your suggestion, i cropped in this way on the right becouse... dont remember. i will check the original, maybe there was a confusion of building, or i choosed a "surprise" building. Link to comment
Ciao, Maurizio. Link to comment
patspics 5 Posted April 10, 2012 Great mono shot! Wonderful composition! It is almost abstract. Link to comment
overdiep 0 Posted April 10, 2012 Beautiful b/w image. Nice interaction between the several elements, in particular between the two persons. Link to comment
Complimenti.Vezio Link to comment
Link to comment

mark_q 0 Posted April 12, 2012 You have created a very personal unique and powerful composite here. I had to google to figure out how this museum looks like: really impressive. I look forward to see some more photos taken of this building.Somehow this photo makes me think of the illustrations that architects do for presentation of their new building projects by adding people for scale and life to enliven the view of future. You must be familiar with that practice as an working professional. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted April 20, 2012 This as well is a very good and exact timing! I like the diagonal imaginative line from the seating woman to the walking one ( with the dog) ,and to the small part of the house on the RHS. very beautiful composed with a very good balance..Best wishes. Link to comment
