This image is a montage using the sky from another shot i took.

What are your feelings on this technique? I would rather have an

original sky personally, what are your opinions?

If it's done well, it can be a useful step in editing.  After all, the sky is constantly changing, and what you see now will be different in a very short time.  One of the biggest challenges is retaining the same sense of scale and direction.  If the sky was photographed with a very different focal length, or horizontal/vertical angle, or angle in relationship to the sun, the resulting combination may appear to be odd.  Here, I think you've done a good job; some might question the apparent direction of the rays across the cloud at the right, but it's not something that jumps out at me.
