Without hesitation I do prefer the BW version, dramatic and moody, with a soft touch of nostalgia hanged from a fantastic troubled sky (I cannot appreciate this feeling in the color version), like if the image were depicting a past time. Really very well done Mau.

Undoubtedly the bw version. It is simply magnificient. The clouds and the ground introduce a dramatic element. Best regards.

Hi Maurizio,

I like both versions, but the BW version is more like what older film cameras produced with lens that were stopped down significantly. This in turn provides that "softer" look, which is pleasing to see.

Being a specialist in high definition imaging, I would have shot this scene with my fixed focal length wide angle lens at wide open aperture or one stop below.

Had you shoot the color version at F/4, I would have found it to be better. The fact that larger f-stops (like F/11, 16, 22, etc) do reduce the clarity of any good lens. The color content places more of a demand upon the lens ability to image each color, develop the color and keep the contrast at it best levels. Again, a good lens benefits from a more open f-stop employed.

Best Regards,  Mike

Devo commentato una foto della Toscana e ho detto: Non sono mai stato lì, ma l'ho riconosciuto dalla foto miniature! Questo è molto bello, ma non riesco a decidere quale preferire, il BW o il colore! Entrambi sono divini!

Ciaomau dottore!

The B/W version looks like a photo of an old master, it is also a very good photo, congratulations!

It seems that the  of the B/W version got more attention from you during  post processing, therefore this time it is better than the color version.

A well photographed place but hardly presented in b&w that is rendered beautifully such as this. Great tones and well composed landscape.

Il B&W è riuscito molto bene e le nuvole rendono molto di più! La serpentina sulla destra "stuzzica" molto l'occhio! Decisamente ben riuscita!

Ah Tuscany. It would be so lovely to take a drive (quite a few actually over a week or so!) and stop to appreciate all the wonderful sights I am sure there would be. I do like the black and white as many others. Its 'moodiness' and the 'light and shadow' play are lovely.

Well done Maurizio.

Kindest regards, Gail

What a beautiful, beautiful photograph you have made. everywhere there are small cameos of rural life joined by the curvaceous landscape. The lines of trees up the winding road and the huddle of dark pines watching over the valleys and distant hills. Such sky, crammed with clouds and light. I envy you this photo!
