john_caines 0 Posted April 9, 2012 I find the sky is too dark (circular polarizer on a wide angle lens can do this) and the white of the church is too light. The church is leaning and should be corrected with the skew command. You may not agree with me but at least I am telling you why I rated 4. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 10, 2012 Thank you for viewing and for taking the time to rate and comment. You are totally right about the dark sky being the product of the wide angle lense/circular polarizer;intensity of it is a matter of taste and I can appreciate that you find it too dark.I used the church as accessory in this sky dominant scene, but I agree that it could have been darker to enhance its details. As to the lean,it is the by-product of the extra-wide lense and a feature that I like and use when it is exagerated as in this case. For a very slight tilt,I agree that the use of a correction tool is in order, but again I must confess that my skills are limited in this case. The rating is what it is and I gain satisfaction that this photo was interesting enough to attract your attention and draw your comment.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
ryourth 0 Posted April 10, 2012 Hi Laurent- HEH, distortion can be interesting at times, I like the effect you have created here. It appears as if the clouds are trying to push the church back to a vertical position.Regards Ross Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 11, 2012 Thank you for viewing and for the kind comment.I am a cloud chaser and in this case I waited until the head of the clouds was just over the church.I also have shots with the church upright....I guess straightened by the clouds!Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
