Pierre Dumas 264 Posted April 20, 2012 I'm afraid of these guys, that's why I said beautiful, they are ugly as a matter of fact! Ha!Best regards Mircea!PDE Link to comment
markbalcom 0 Posted April 20, 2012 Overall, well done in my opinion. My one personal difficulty as a viewer of the photograph is how white the lead rider's sunlit thigh is--I think a little too close to posterized or blown out. I wonder if it looks more under control in print resolution. Otherwise I think a lot of detail is maintained across a broad range of tonality from deeply shadowed to brightly lit. The composition pleases my eye as well. Most riders face the to the right and the paving stones are aligned right and forward, pulling my eye to the lead rider. And the one rider following from behind reinforces that drawing of my attention. There is a great amount of detail and texture throughout the image, which the black and white rendition shows off, I believe, more than a color photo. Link to comment
Alex_Es 388 Posted April 21, 2012 A interesting cultural study. I feel the image is just a trifle dark. I'd lower contrast a little bit and bring out details more in the shadows. The image feels a bit cluttered but that cannot be helped. This is documentary. Link to comment
huban 0 Posted April 21, 2012 I agree with Mark's comments. The photo works regardless. The rider looks like Dustin Hoffman, and the whole thing takes good shape from there. Top rating! Link to comment
