Took this photo of cockatoo at the Snake river in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

It could be a house pet that got away and ended up by the river.

Quite correct, this is a Cockatiel (Nymphicus hollandicus) prolific throughout the Australian continent. If hand-reared from birth, they can learn a few words..... rather like a parrot.

I would agree that this could well-be an "escapee" and unfortunately a rather lonely one, if residing in Idaho.
