shelbyallen 0 Posted June 11, 2003 I'm sorry Joe, I don't like it. The left side looks ok to me but the right is cut off and what is that square thing poking out the top? Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted June 11, 2003 I agree, I am not getting a lot of enjoyment out of this one either, but I do see a face in it if that were your intention. It is certainly a strange piece of wood nonetheless. Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Jason - Thanks for the thorough review - you may be on to something. I've tried a slightly different crop, desaturated, and tinkered a bit with brightness and contrast to try to tweak out a bit more of the texture. The polarizer was, sadly, not well thought out - it was mounted and I used it more instinctively than thoughtfully. As for the time of day, I take the lame defense of the tourist and just say that this is when I got there and I didn't really have enough flexibility in the schedule to wait for better conditions. We were on our way to Big Sur and didn't care to wait. Anyway, version two for consideration. Link to comment

billangel 9,671 Posted October 20, 2003 I think that the original version of the image is quite successful. To me, the image captures or portrays a sense of the prolonged struggle that the tree underwent during its lifetime to grow and survive in its environment. Link to comment
