Storm Coming II

Landrum Kelly

.

Shot hand-held because of tripod vibrations from the wind of the approaching storm, which was coming almost straight up the road.

Nicely composed with the light at the end of the road.  Nice sky with stormy clouds at the right and the shing blue and white clouds at the left upper side.  Best Regards,

Thank you, Wanghan.  I appreciate your feedback.

Yes, Jamie, ratings are fickle.  I would not care about them at all if they were not linked to the opportunity to show one's photos.

I frankly shoot to please my own eye.  I can only hope that others enjoy what I see and capture--and I know that your attitude is the same.

Now it is time to leave this file and go on to other things.  I will not claim to have gotten the perfectly processed image, but I have done the best that I could--there are now four posted variations in post-processing in this folder.

Hi Lannie,

When it comes to ratings and personal preferences, I agree with you, it is what the photographer wants that is important to him.

For me , I am not picky about whether a branch in a scene is "distracting" or the color of something should be different, etc. I look at the technical details (if provided) and enjoy correlating what is present in the image to what I have seen in my optical lab or with the same lens that I have used.

This is a wonderful scene to me because as a small passenger in the back seat of my parents car, I would get excited about the oncoming thunderstorms ahead. Looking back, it was probably because I was attracted to Nature at a very young age and the long car rides on vacation trips became exciting to me when these events came up. Of course, I never realized the feelings my parents must have had when the car was blown around the road or the hail was hitting the car on occasions.

Best Regards,  Mike
