Hi Linda, This is so precious.  I love the composition and selective focus on those gorgeous blue eyes.  Love those whiskers too.  Beautiful!

Fantastic!  Here's why:

  • They eyes
  • limited color palette
  • white cat - black background

Well done.  If it is not cropped I'll like it even more!  Lots of people make pet photos, this one stands out.

J Harrington said it best..you have white, pnik, blue, and black.....color wise, this is so awesome....love the composition as well...love that the wiskers stretch into that negative space...this is a really great photo....as far as a photo of a cat, best one ive seen on PN...7 for me.

Thank you all for your encouragement. It is good to hear your thoughts. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Daisy is a rescue cat. She has a sweet personality and isn't overly vain about her beauty.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,

Linda

Beautiful image Linda for so many reasons (not just because I adore cats)! The focus on her face is wonderful, the colors are perfect and clear, her expression is captivating and the whiskers are the finishing touch. Another one of yours for my favorites. Great work! Thank you for sharing. :)

Beautiful cat.  Those eyes are incredible.  Love the feel of this photo too.  Not sure how to describe it.  I guess calm and entrancing.:)  I really do think it would be better without the black on the side.  If you feel it necessary for the space on the left, maybe try changing the color of it to the rest of the background.  It's still great though.

Thanks for your visit and your kind words.

Trisha, I guess you can tell that I am a cat lover too, well I love most animals. Every cat has it's own  distinct personality  and  idiosyncrasies. There is nothing so calming and comforting  as a  big, warm, cuddly  cat sitting on your lap purring and purring.

Scott, thanks. For me it was just so calming - the cat and in this picture.  I appreciate the advice thanks for taking the time.

Ben, nice to hear from you, glad that you like it.

David, thanks. I have taken this to be printed large - twice! Both times they cut the eye on the right in half.

Happy Spring!

Linda

Linda,

This one needs framed! And, . . . hung on a gallery wall!

The lighting is superb considering the soft colour and those eyes! And Yes, the whisker's too!

This composition really works and the shallow DOF is just right showing the most significant fine details!

Very well done in my opinion!

Regards always,

Jim j.

Pretty Blue eyes is the name of a sixties song by Steve lawrence and the first words are;"pretty blue eyes, I thought i was in love before and then you moved in next door, Pretty Blue Eyes, Pretty Blue eyes"    I guess when I saw this image it took me back to a time when I danced with  my girlfriend who had green eyes but it really did not matter the color of her eyes.

Superb image.
