aarkp 2 Posted March 28, 2012 Both are exceptional images. In the first one there can be no doubt of her pitch... composition, light management, processing are first rate. The second one packs a powerful punch in monochrome. Outstanding work, Pnina. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 29, 2012 Thans a lot for looking and writing!I appreciate your words in both of them. I wanted to enter the viewers to the atmospher of a very beautiful production! Link to comment

3m 0 Posted March 31, 2012 PninaThis must be a somewhat lighter scene of the opera, as the singer's expression seems rather rapturous in your capture. I like the singer's placement in the frame, while still allowing for some subtle details of the orchestra beyond... Lovely clarity, detail & color combination. Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted March 31, 2012 WOW! Pnina such a lovely stage shot! excellent exposure & DOF, great details & nice expression, perfect contrast especially the green-light make the picture stand out! Best regards 7! Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 31, 2012 As always, you prove you're among the best of the theatrical photographers. I've tried my hand at this kind of shooting in the past and realize how hard it is to judge stage lighting and to hold and capture a single moment, like catching a butterfly on the wing. ldavidson 4 Posted April 1, 2012 Pnina, it's always a pleasure to see your latest work. It is inspiring. This image makes me think of purity and elegance. I like the way you used DOF to bring the subject out, she seems three demensional. Beautiful!Best wishes,Linda Link to comment

Marjolein, in the opera, she plays the closest friend of Dido and in this scene she tells about Dido's love to Anias (as far as I understood).Richard, thanks for your detailed impressions, nice to see you active again!Jack, it is all about trail, error ,and accumulating experience... Thanks for your nice eloquent ( as usual )feedback.Linda thanks , it is hard to choose from the collection I have of this beautiful production ,and I tried to upload the scenes that have logic of the story, and the different participants.Ruud, thanks for your always nice feedback Link to comment
Bill J Boyd 64,466 Posted April 2, 2012 Pnina...This is a stunning image with great lighting. You have captured her expression beautifully. BTW...thank you for your comments on NW angle images. The bridge image is the most recent and I just learned how to keep the shutter open for 10-seconds. I live about 10-minutes from this bridge and will shoot it again in different lighting. LenMarriott 9 Posted April 8, 2012 My favourite of your three most recent posts mainly for her joyous and uplifting expression. I'm not sure that including the out of focus members of the orchestra adds to this offering since the singer is the most important element. Depends on your artistic intent in presenting this one. Your B&W of the witch prompted me to convert this one to B&W and I have to say I prefer it to the green tinged original. I also cropped it square, from the upper right corner. Again, I am viewing this one out of context so I have to be cautious in my observations. I am most impressed with the sharpness here, thanks, probably, to the modern glass, high ISO's, and superior sensors available today. Always a treat to view your latest. Best, LM. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 8, 2012 In general, many of the photos can have different crops and transformed to B/W. Let me explain: it was an opera with lights and many groups of participants. In order to create a series that will give the different viewers a hint of the whole I tried to upload a series of images in different forms ,colors/ lights, and B/W ,as well as do justice to the different groups of performers....;-))I hope it explains my choices... It is always a pleasure to read your point of view that light points that need explanations. Great to have you at my work! Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted April 17, 2012 I imagine opera performances as a good opportunity to take photographs under well designed lightnings on stage. But you're using those available lights environment in a master way, I think it's strongly influenced by the framing and the angle. This evocative image of an unforgettable beauty singing is an example of this concept, where the frame seems out of the rules, but with a remarkable result, mainly because for you feelings and emotions are the priority, and I can see it here. Chapeau madame! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 19, 2012 Thanks!. Great to see you again and read your impressions. Where have you been...;-)) such a long absence. Thanks so much for your very nice feedback! Link to comment
