This photo shows another wet weather phenomena seen on Maui. Multiple

rainbows at the same time, but not a “double”. This is taken near the

location of my “Sundog” rainbow, or Parhelion as Steve Shinn would call it.

The same mountain peak, Haleakala is in the background. The sun is

setting at my back. I’m standing at the edge of a cliff with the sun sinking

behind me casting the dark shadow in the foreground. It’s so cold at this

elevation that even with heavy winter coats and gloves we can’t last more

than an hour…even on Maui.

An update.  Member Mark Zell let me know this phenomenon is called a "glory"  and it's more likely to be seen from an airplane.  Thanks Mark!
