I like both versions.  You captured a very special moment and did it very well.  Question for you - did you wait until this happened and captured this moment which was very short I am sure.  Or were you shooting away at many fps and this happened while you were shooting.  No right answer - just curious as to how to best capture this very special animal moments.

This is one of the best mornings I've experienced as a professional photographer.  To answer your question ... I shoot in continuous mode in very short bursts.  So I have a series of these images and still haven't determined which is my favorite.  There were actually two lionesses here (neither of which was the mother) and two cubs.  Mum showed up about a half hour after this was taken. On the off chance you might be interested, I'm going to try to attach a link to an article I wrote about this day.
