Landrum Kelly 64 Posted March 19, 2012 Although this photo might not look as sharp as the one made slightly earlier (the first version, "Third Creek Presbyterian Church"), a 100 percent crop shows that they are both of approximately equal sharpness.--Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted March 19, 2012 Please note the undulations in the brick between the window and the door (in the 100 percent crop). As the sun went down, it did not, of course, go straight down, but went increasingly somewhat to the right, thus creating a lighting situation where these undulations could be more easily seen.--Lannie Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted March 20, 2012 The dramatic light on the other one helps a lot. I suppose the bright widows force the brick to be dark in this one. All three find themselves rated six, though. The sign leaves me cold.It looks quite secular. It must be busy, given the new building on the right with the tacky roof. More room for the faithful. best, jamie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted March 20, 2012 It doesn't quite work, does it, Jamie? I thought upon taking it that this one would be better, with the more extreme angle of the sun, which is almost coming down the length of the building as the sun moved down and to the right as it set.As for the sign, well, it beats neon--and they did have a more modern sign which I have not posted.--Lannie Link to comment
