jerrymat 4 Posted June 9, 2003 You cut off his forehead. For vertical pictures, turn the camera 90 degrees to make it vertical. Link to comment
marion_geralds 0 Posted June 21, 2003 Keep this for your family album. This is a remark of yours I copied from here. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo.tcl?photo_id=1566614 I would say it is applicable to almost all that you have posted. Link to comment
marion_geralds 0 Posted June 22, 2003 Friend, you have rated almost 600 photos at an average of below "the average" of 4. Do you only look at things you don't like and criticize them? In all frankness, I find your photos terribly depressing and pessimistic, but since I don't like them, contrary to you, I will not rate them. Link to comment
floh 0 Posted June 23, 2003 Well, thank you for the comment. About Michael, i will explain you this... He is my friend and I told him about this site, because I start to like it. I told him to upload his photos too and asked him to please rate my pictures. I didn't tell him to rate them high. I don't even agree with his rating at all. This photo here I would rate myself 5/4 for example, in case you are interessted. But suspicion is well justified. Feel free to rate the picture however you want to!!! regards, flo Link to comment
ian_greant 0 Posted June 24, 2003 I kinda like this! Interesting crop. Good character study. DOF isolates subject from background. It's probably just my own personal quirk but I think even the slight bit of motion blur may enhance the photo. Is this a conventional portrait? No. Do I think it's effective? Yes. Keep it up Flo. floh 0 Posted June 24, 2003 The explaination of 7/7 is that i rated it very quickly right after joining the site, without having a well balanced feeling for the rating system for himself. I will tell him to rerate it after rating more photos on this site... John, don't remove anything. Always stick to what happened! ;) kind regards, Florian Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 2, 2003 I think this one is an interesting portrait. The forehead is cut. No big problem here, use it and concentrate more on the face. Reinforce Max's expression (like boxing guy) and attitude (good angle here with face and left shoulder) in a tigher cropping and decenter more the subject. B&W would enhance it better IMHO ... but better look at the result. Link to comment
floh 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Thank you very much for the suggestion! B/W really could be an improvement. and your crop is quite interesting! For me the cut-off head was quite natural when taking this pictures. I'm happy that some people find this interesting. -florian Link to comment
basscheffers 0 Posted July 2, 2003 A very powerfull expression. A little more depth of field could have kept the mouth in focus. Like sugested above, an even tighter crop would work better, right now the background on the left is a little distracting! Link to comment
kaiblanke 1 Posted July 9, 2003 I like the picture, but have to agree that Roberts cropping & BW conversion improves it into a real good one. Link to comment
floh 0 Posted March 10, 2004 Hey! This is an old picture from my first roll of film ever. I have it here for quite a while but now i'd like to post a critique request. Thanks for comments! Link to comment
adrianhinojosa 0 Posted June 13, 2004 Brilliant portrait especially considering this was your early work. Link to comment
