I have reworked the original to death! Does it look better. I think

the other one was halfway. I don't know what more I can do. I took a

little light from the top & lightened the bottom, warped it & I

don't know how to make a shadow Doug. If you tell me how, I will try.

Regards to all;

Nicely done. I wish it hadn't been signed on the bottom -- damned distracting. Otherwise, nice rendering.

This is so much better than your first version, Elizabeth. Thanks for considering my comments as room for improvement, rather than words of condemnation. You've done a remarkable job of adding life to what was before, in my opinion, an unremarkable image. I don't know where you want a shadow, but I think this is about as good as you're going to get from the original capture. Any more work is only likely to result in minimal improvement (but you are welcome to prove me wrong!) Possibly, like Bob suggested, you can try again, and again after that, even, to start out with a better original capture, from which you can do more in terms of post-exposure manipulation, if that's what you like to do.

All told, great work here.

Patric, I sign because I have always signed my work. My clocks were cast of mydrocal & I carved my name in the back as they were setting. So, it's a habit I guess.

Audrey..I'm stopping here!

Richard..Congrats. on your work being chosen this week...God my grammer stinks! but you know what I mean.

& last but not least, Doug,, I really worked for those 6's...Where's the Visine? I think I'm getting it. 7's with "nice" doesn't help if the photo doesn't deserve it. 4's with an explanation of what I can do to improve gets me going as you can see by the above results! I thought it needed a shadow somewhere, but as I told Audry...I'm stopping here...;>))) As an aside..Don't you just love the way Anna says "Oh, look who came to the party" concering the Red Shoes debate..Really cracked me up!

A virbrant image. The lighting is very pleasing, although I think it may be a little hot on the top. I am also unsure that the points on the left and top where the flowers overlap your frame add to the image.

Your new version is a big improvement Elizabeth! It's got more life!

I couldn't resist playing with this a little, I hope you don't mind? All I did was create a quick (and sloppy) mask of the middle and lower right sections of the bouquet and applied a curve to brighten it. I wanted to mimic the directional quality of the light you have on the vase. It wasn't a drastic move, but I thought it gave the bouquet a bit more shape. I'll remove the attachment if you like.

Now go raid the garden! :-))

Of course I don't mind. Have at any of my photo's, that's the only way I'm going to learn. I've been switching back and forth from mine to yours & I see a slight change. Could you point out where I should be looking? Is is an overall or ????. This has been quite an adventure with these Iris's! :')

This should show better the area I adjusted in my last attachment. But in this one I darkened the areas that I left alone before, so the brighter spot will stand out better. It really was meant to be a very subtle move, but maybe it was too subtle. :-)

Quite subtle, but it does make a difference. After studying both, That's the area of improvement. I tried doing a mask, & my whole picture dissappeared!! lol. I'm still studying.

I guess someday I'll get it. Thanks again for taking the time to work with me. It helps me soooo much. I raided the garden of Popppies. See newest boquet.

Hello, Elizabeth. First off, I have read the comments above, and I think tou are getting some

good advice. Your work looks very good. Try using

"Illustrator" more, sometimes the vector drawing

programs work very well. BTW try "CorelDRAW 11", I

like it better than Illustrator 10.
