"...Well the coffee is strong

at the Cafe Du Monde,

And the donuts are too hot to touch;

But just like a fool, when those

sweet goodies cool, I ate 'til I ate way too much.

Cause I'm livin' on things that excite me,

Be they pastries or lobsters or love;

I'm just tryin' to get by being quiet and shy,

In a world full of pushin' and shove.

You are not going to believe my connection with Cafe Du monde. Many years ago my cousin was hire by Dupont paints and they move to New Orleans, her younger brother had just finished High School and ask her if he could move with them to explore if he will like to stay there and she say yes. About a month later he was invited to a neighboor party and there he met a young girl. They like each other very much and he ask her if she new of any place where he could find a Job. You get it,  she told him to come to work for her Daddy who is one of the owners of Cafe Du Monde. He is a hard worker and soon became a manager and now he has his own branch near by. The original owners last name is no other than Fernandez! Ha! Warm regards my friend.

Hi Rajat,

The slower shutter speed provided both clear details and motion, all in the same scene.

This brings "life" to the scene .

I like the  BW presentation , too.

Nice work my friend.

Best Regards,  Mike

Great lyrics by Jimmy and I might add Crawfish Etouffee to that list of New Orleans treats! Your b/w treatment is superb, crisp in the right places, great tones and the movement adds life, reflecting the 24 hour a day activity here.

@Jorge...  Great story!!  We'll all be down to visit the Cafe with you! ;-)...  Mike

The softness, the richness of rather mild tones and the whole spectacle, perfect as arranged each figure reminds me of the famous movie Casablanca in some way! However, great artistic classic photograph! Congratulations my friend!

Best regards!

I like the high key approach and the result would not be at all out of place as an illustration in The New Yorker. It has a kind of contemporary immediacy.

I very much enjoyed this B/W...has a very dreamlike feel to it...perhaps this has something to do with the focus...it is a very very interesting shot...I like it very much...very unique

a great line, Jimmy’s… ‘Cause I'm livin' on things that excite me, Be they pastries or lobsters or love…’.  ;-)).

I like how the pillars frame your shot Rajat; a world of women you present, mostly...  And ditto Jack’s reference to the New Yorker; your fine choice in tone definitely echoes the sophisticated visual character of the publication.
