A shot from our late afternoon/ evening trip to Stud Horse Point, with our

excellent guide, Jackson Bridges. I would recommend him in a heartbeat

as a guide in the Page area. I digress....Let me know what you think of

this image in terms of composition and processing. Thanks in advance for

your comments.

Paul,

Great picture,  cool place! Makes me go back west and shoot. I personally would have left the dark mountain side on the left out of the picture, but that's just my preference.

I was just out there last week and I attempted to scramble up to Stud Horse Point from the Wildcat Tanks area, which I believe is completely possible, however the slickrock got a little steep near the top so I did indeed turn around.

Anyway, I do like the contrast of the foreground and background, although I would agree with the previous post and probably would have left the dark mountainside on the left out of the image. In addition if given a choice perhaps waiting just a bit longer or later in the evening might have given a bit more saturated colors.

None the less, that's just my opinion and we're all different! That's what makes it art. All in all a beautiful image from a beautiful place!

Thanks for the comments, Christoph and Ryan.  I agree that the shadows could be lifted a little, but my concern is that I will lose the contrast between the one pedestal and the shadow area at the bottom of the image.  I appreciate your insights.  Take care, and all the best.

Thanks Zacharie!  This is truly a magical area in the Southwest US.  Take care, and thanks for stopping by my humble little corner of Photo.net.
