This is really quite beautiful.  I'm partial to contrasts, and the hazy, straight lines of the blowing sand moving over the much more pronounced, undulating ridges of the sand patterns is just such a contrast -- it's striking.  I think you've framed this well, with the sun out of the frame (but we know it's there), and two elevations at the top that help my eye stay in the middle as it goes up and presumably over the top of the ridge.   You've made a great shot where many would probably have packed up because of supposedly less than ideal conditions for photography.

Gunga Jim. No, I stuck with my 17-35mm zoom. I did open my umrella to try to protect my camera from the sandy wind (4x5 trick), but it instantly turned inside-out. It actually took me longer to clean myself and my equipement than I spent out on the dunes. A pretty wild time. Glad I had my small travel trailer to return to on this trip instead of just my pickup and a tent.

Strangely low ratings for this photo so far. Sometimes ratings make sense to me, other times I just don't get it.  The low end of 4 just seems bizare on this one. Oh, well its not my call. Thanks for the compliments.  Was sure fun being out there. I believe I have a few more from that afternoon worthy of posting.

This is very nice.  I am surprised that you did not get higher rating.  It's like seeing the sand move within the frame.  6 from me K.C.
