This is actually a re-post.  It had been misappropriated repeatedly as had many of my images.  In several cases it has actually been credited to someone else.  From here on I put nothing on the internet that isn't prominently watermarked.  Sorry you don't like it but someday someone may steal your work ... if that happens I suspect you'll be more sympathetic.

Hi Billy,

I agree, having ones work stolen stinks, and yes, putting the copyright in the corner allows for easy cropping. So, smack in the middle might be the only way to go. Nevertheless, it distracts a lot.

Love the picture. The most unfortunate thing is that even with the prominent watermarking it can easily be stolen. Once for a trial (and only that. I deleted the original and the final product) I downloaded a prominently water-marked photo. It was amazing/scary how easy it is to using a healing tool to remove any evidence of marking. I have no fears of my pictures being stolen (they simply aren't worth stealing yet) but even I am angry at how little protection is offered for photographers over the ownership of their photos. Everyone and their brother googles pictures and downloads them without realizing that this is someone's livelihood. I've even had long-term arguments with people over the ethics of using images found on websites that aren't specifically free-to-use. Love ALL of your images. I hope that you might be safe from piracy!

Appreciate the kind note, Josh.  What I post on here represents a lot of hard work in the field.  It's demoralizing to have it stolen, but that's the hazard of posting it on the web.

Best wishes to you, my friend.
