dave, if this were mine i would place flowers in a sq format, the negative space here is so little as to almost not worry about.  when i print up anything i always seem to use either portrait, landscape or sq. format, lots of times i take a sq format with a landscape setting,  but knowing how easy to crop it is, makes it no problem.

The bright cheerful Daffs against the dark background adds a lot of impact to the image, Very well done!
