This is really a lesson in B/W  and grey composition.Very nice play with/of  interesting angles/ triangles .Add it to my collections!

This whole set is absolutely classic photography; wonderful natural abstracts with superb tones.

many thanks for your comments. I was scanning through my archive and found this and few others worth adding to my folder "Flora - monochromatic".

Best regards, Wolfgang

Been away from critiquing for a while. Nice to come back to this. What Jack says! The stark shadow gives so much to this photo, making a play with foreground, background, adding depth, and giving the composition a great kind of dynamism. It feels like you've included just what's needed here, keeping the photo suggestive, letting us know what we have here, but abstracting it nonetheless. A thought occurs to me about the tulip itself, which is to suggest a little more 3-dimensional roundness with some very subtle lightness and shading. A really strong image and beautifully rendered.

Pnina, Fred,

big thanks for your comments!

@Fred: glad you're back to commenting - I highly appreciate your insightful and carefully worded comments. Very good proposal about the tulip - it's a detail, but details can be decisive.

 Best regards, Wolfgang
