sonneland 0 Posted March 6, 2012 pnina, this is indeed a lovely image, i particularly like the position and movement of her hands, also expression on her face fits well with title. i like your image very much, but am not sure why you placed it in flowers. anyway, lovely work! Link to comment
kallol 1 Posted March 7, 2012 Wonderful stage shot, Pnina... lovely light and moment...my best Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 7, 2012 Raymond,I'n glad you used the word -emotive.Roger, thanks and Iwent to look and youwere right it was a mistake as flowers are under Fine arts..So the good result was your visit and comment!Kallol, thanks as well, glad you liked it. Link to comment
ruudalbers 1 Posted March 7, 2012 Really beautiful work with impressive lighting, Pnina! Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted March 7, 2012 It is beautiful. The pose -- fingers, shimmery costume, closed eyes, positioning on the frame, and lovely blackdrop/floor with the papers looking blurry and shimmery provide a magical, artistic rendition of a bird on a pond. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted March 7, 2012 Her hands are amazing and prove to what detail the dancers have practiced. Even without the title her pose is very telling and well captured. There's a nice contrast in hues of her skin (and the beak) vs dominating blue.Best regards, Wolfgang Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted March 7, 2012 My favourite of your three most recent posts. I like the positioning of your subject in the frame and especially the water effect. Looks like she's sitting in a pool. How do they stage that? Lots of credit due to the lighting, props, and makeup people. The foreground edge could easily be cloned out if you so desired. (I tried it) My own preference is for a brighter, snappier image but that may well destroy the original mood if that is what you are portraying here. Hard for a viewer who hasn't seen the live production to make an informed decision. Best, LM. Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted March 8, 2012 pnina, your work actually brightens up the flower section, i also looked and noticed "fine arts" and saw the mistake. came back for another view of this, she relishes in her role, and those hands are so expressive. as a image it goes well in the context of the dying swallow, but i think a tight crop around just lady, with same title beneath, would be a very emotive and powerful image. if you don't mind i would like to download and print a small image to go on the wall here by my computer, promise will do nothing more with it.....rogeri am working again after a long non creative spell, this was taken yesterday and is a present for you to take back to fine arts. have not decided on a title yet. tonyfrench 0 Posted March 8, 2012 Pnina, her expressive face and hands stand out very nicely against the tones of the floor and costume. The various detail of the texture on her costume is nicely rendered. It's beautiful. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 8, 2012 Ruud ,thanks for your feedback.are you? and thanks for your detailed impressionsWolfgang, your feedback is well expressing your impressions, thanks for writing them.Len, she is seating in the "snow", if you read the story (the upper link) the dancers are spreading snow when the winter comes in.Look at this onehttp://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=13656553the stage light was very strong on her face, so in order to get the feeling o fthe moment I have reduced the light a bit., also she was seaing near the edge of the stage , so part of the "land" was the possibility I choose.... Roger, thanks for coming again and for your new nearly abstract rose for me, thanks, and be my guest for a small print.I think that the surrounding of the swallw in the snow, was needed for the story and this moment.Tony, thanks for both your nice impressions. I will upload another scene or two for all of you to get more the feeling of the dance.Paula, is the name of the costume designer that did a great job. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 8, 2012 Coming winter.... I hope it will help to ' enter' the dance spirite...!Thanks again. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted March 8, 2012 Always a pleasure to see how you show us views of the set and its characters, use of clever angles and a sense of what the audience were actually looking at. You're just a master in this genre. Compliments! Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted March 13, 2012 a remarkable series of images... admirably composed, particularly given the constraints of the situation Link to comment
andrea-de-bonis 6 Posted March 14, 2012 very original, she seems to came out from sea, or in general from an other dimension. also the moment, posture and expression are both important Link to comment

Landrum Kelly 64 Posted March 17, 2012 "Bring me the two most precious things in the city," said God to one of His Angels; and the Angel brought Him the leaden heart and the dead bird."You have rightly chosen," said God, "for in my garden of Paradise this little bird shall sing for evermore, and in my city of gold the Happy Prince shall praise me."What a perfectly wonderful piece of work you have captured and created to accompany the story, Pnina! The picture has so much more meaning in the context of the Oscar Wilde story, which I had never read before this morning. As for the photo itself, what can I say? I have ranked it as high as I can and placed it among my favorites. I thought that surely it would, upon being viewed "larger," show signs of motion, but you have managed to freeze the action and show the beauty of the dancer and her costume in exquisite detail. This is truly wonderful work, Pnina. Thank you for this one, and for all your fine work.--Lannie Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 18, 2012 Thanks a lot for reading and citating the end of story. I think that seeing the photos after knowing the basis adds a lot to the viewers experience ,and you are a very good evidence! ..;-)) Thanks for a very nice feedback, one of the best I have recieved for the Happy Prince. Thanks as well for adding it to your collection. ! gordonjb 10,860 Posted March 20, 2012 I love the colour palette. The framing, focus and dof work together nicely. The wedge shaped, slightly diagonal, sliver at the bottom edge of the frame is a bit distracting. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 20, 2012 Thanks for always a nice feedback,I took that line out and here is the other one without.... Link to comment
