kombizz 15 Posted March 5, 2012 Choose PeaceOn 28 January 2012, hundreds of anti-war protesters gathered in front of USA Embassy in London at a demonstration against Western intervention in Iran and Syria. The rally organised by the Stop the War Coalition. Here, you will see a charming lady seating beside Tony Benn, the president of Stop the War Coalition, the former Labour Party MP and Cabinet Minister. Link to comment
Alex_Es 388 Posted March 6, 2012 A fine photo. Tony Benn is looking good. This would have been a different decade if the US had chosen peace instead of getting embroiled in two unnecessary wars. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 12, 2012 A well seen and composed image, which conveys a timely and powerful message. Link to comment

katie_clarke1 0 Posted April 2, 2012 Do Iran and Syria want peace? I am not political but it appears that money is going into these countries build nuclear weapons. Is that not true. The question people must ask is if Americans and Europeans have a right to stop it if they can. You probably know my answer but that will get us off topic. I like the idea it conveys. If only! I like the photo, it reminds me of something, i just don't know. Peace to you Kombizz. Link to comment
kombizz 15 Posted April 2, 2012 @ Katie Clarke You may find your answer here:Don't Attack Iran, and Double Standards. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted April 3, 2012 Kathy may have found her answer but I did not (not a rational answer). Iran needs nukes so that the "West" does not recolonize Iran or because a nearby country has or might have nukes? Come on. In that case most all of the world needs nukes because so many were colonized and anywhere there is somewhere close by with nukes who is not so very friendly. Iran needs nukes like a hole in the head. You spoke of "Double Standard" Let us see. More muslims have been killed by your own fellow muslims than by Israelis or Americans. Far, far more civilian casualties in Afganastan and Pakistan committed by Nato than civilian causualties in Gaza and Jenin and the UN is not flipped out about that -double standard. Millions of Jews are not still, over 60 years later, sitting in refugee camps, living on UN handouts while waiting to return to Europe and reclaim their property. If your children are blown to smitherines in the London or Madrid Subway system it will be by a muslim not an Israeli and maybe instigated by your country. Even muslims disassociate themselves from other muslims. Islam and Iran are the world's number 1 problem, not America and Israel.I am Israeli and American and I know absolutely that Iran does not need nukes because of us. Link to comment
katie_clarke1 0 Posted April 3, 2012 Meir, very passionate response.I think one way to look at this is that enabling countries in the Middle East to have nuclear weapons can destablize not just that part of the world but is a much larger threat that extends across the globe. These governments are so unstable that giving a group access to nuclear weapons is like giving a child a blowtorch to play with. I would also think that people like Meir who live in Israel may be a little concerned about radiation posioning once the bomb hits. In this case it may be that choosing peace creates war. Who was more right, Neville Chamberlain or Winston Churchill? Link to comment
katie_clarke1 0 Posted April 3, 2012 And I don't think of Islam as the problem, fundamentalist-yes. We all have our fundamentalists though. Look at what is happening in the United States within the Rebublican party. I would also imagine that there are many Iranians who don't want a nuclear weapon and see it as a threat but that all depends on what people are told about where the threats are coming from. But Kombizz has a point of view I can respect even though I have a differing opinion. Peace to all! Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted April 4, 2012 This man and woman have forgotten that Chamberlain chose peace and 42 million people thereafter perished.I don't think to respect someone's opinion who sneers at yours is the right way to go. Link to comment
