Bill J Boyd 64,523 Posted March 3, 2012 Pnina...this is a very nice composition with great body language. There is a lot to like in this image. I especially like the way both people are "leaning", and I like the light / shadows through the lady's hat. Well done! Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted March 3, 2012 I like but the second version is fabulous. Link to comment
ruudalbers 0 Posted March 3, 2012 Really beautiful work with very nice lighting and colours, Pnina! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 259 Posted March 4, 2012 I'm amazed with the second picture, this one is comparing to that a bit ...I don't know, the body language is there, maybe I prefer technical quality! Anyway, good photo of theater performance!Best regards Pnina!PDE Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 4, 2012 Karlen, welcome to PN.Bill,Meir,Ruud, Pierre and Mehmet . I appreciate your feedback! Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 5, 2012 Composition and color here is very good, The slight motion blur on the flower girl is a little unfortunate because although it's the result of body motion, it doesn't have a dance-like quality and along with the blotch of shadows shadows on her face caused by her summer hat weakens an otherwise superbly theatrical picture. pnital 36 Posted March 6, 2012 Thanks for both your comments. I think you are right about the tiny blure on her face, but it is very hard to photo while the show is going on... the scene itself is funny and very much to my liking, and therefore I have uploaded it with the second version. Thanks for writing your true impression I appreciate it a lot.! Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted March 8, 2012 Pnina, both of these are nicely done. The body language in the original post very much tells the story. The coy expression in the 2nd post gives us insight into the character. I really like the colors in the set and her costume. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted March 8, 2012 This series is so good that I can very good imagine what the theatre production actually looks like from its photographs alone. Nothing to add - compliments Pnina! Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted March 8, 2012 Like a live action still life wrapped up in a painting........not sure what that means, but it's a wonderful photograph! :-) Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted March 11, 2012 It is a very lovely scene and the timing is impressive. Beautiful light and colour combination. This is a very good image, but the 2nd version is even better. The 2nd version is fantastic, very artistic, painting-like and just amazing. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 11, 2012 Tony,El, Tim and Gunnar. It is good to read your real impressions, I have uploaded the two as the first has more movementand the second has less,so they complement each other.Tim, I you read the story you will see that the prince as a statue saw what is going on in the streets of his kingdom (which he did not see being alive in his palace). The dance creates the two sides, the day life( this one selling flowers) and the poor people like this example...;-)) Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted March 12, 2012 I followed the link and read the story. What a wonderful tale! It's a message that, sadly, not enough people embrace. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted March 13, 2012 I always think it's interesting to ponder why you've chosen to post the pictures that you do. The two additional posts, at least in my estimation, are stronger pieces, but this one has a bit of extra charm that the others don't. The last piece you posted is a particularly strong composition. But what do I know? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 15, 2012 Tim , I'm glad you went to the link, reading the story makes it easuer to understand the moments/ compositions of the dance. Jeff, I'm glad to see you again, thanks for finding the time.I love to look a at a dance and take out (isolate) moments from it that are connected to human life. "Life as a dance" is what triggers me to find the moments (in any performing arts). Dance especially is more abstract in nature and giving it a meaning is"double" creation ....( the choreographer's and mine....;-)) Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted March 16, 2012 Hi Pnina! This is really cute, I like it. It is light hearted, fun to look at. The second post below is a better photograph though. This one is out of focus, the second is so crisp and clean. You also used the rule of thirds in your composition and that always works. Best wishes,Linda Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 16, 2012 Thanks as well, and you are right it is a bit out of focus as it was a strong movement , but still I liked the charm it represented and uploaded the two of them.... Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted March 17, 2012 I like the shot, the play of the curves works very well. there is an aggressive broken line in dark and then it contrasts fantastically with the vividly colored all smooth and defensive figure of the woman.Best regards, Tibi Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 19, 2012 Thanks for liking the scene, I think that you should see the play/ dance. it is for children from age 5 till 120 years old...;-)) I will let you know when it twill be in the Tel Aviv museum of art!( right now it will beon the 28th of April). if you want I will send you details. gordonjb 10,860 Posted March 20, 2012 Pnina,Despite my usual penchant for blur I find this one neither blurry enough to to feel intentional nor sharp enough to feel comfortable. However your second version I love. Link to comment
