Spectacular!  There has to be a foot trail on that ridge.  You absolutely must take it, if there is one that is easily accessible.  No need to climb the entire thing to get a sense of what it's like--but all the better if you can (and if your feet are ready--not much worse than a blister when you are miles from home).

This is a great view, Diane.  I would consider cropping out a lot of the top so that the eye is forced down onto the ridge.

This is reminiscent of Roan Mtn. (Google "Roan Highlands") along the Tennessee-North Carolina Line, which runs over six thousand feet along the Appalachian Trail--and on the crest of a lot of "balds" which give spectacular views.  I'm glad you got to see this.  In some ways this is prettier than Roan.
