A charming double portrait, as you so often do them, capturing not only the subjects and their personality  but their interaction to each other. Wonderful shot, bravo. 

Appropriateness can be over-rated. It's just so nice to see them having fun and enjoying each other.

It is a lovely portrait. The sweet smile, he more mugging for the camera, she a little looser and looking like she's into it. An environmental portrait this really is not, IMO. It's a close-up and the environment is not really showing itself. You've used the light beautifully and created a nice dynamic between the two of them and between the two of them and yourself. There is comfort and ease here, and playfulness.

The young man is growing up fast, still being impish but in a new different way, and still being a perfect partner for me in every senses. Carolina, the girl, is his best friend and I enjoy them together too much. She usually is my model for series like "A Kind Of", she has a surprising vein for acting, posing "under request" with different dramatic expressions very easily, future actress? Perhaps!

You're right, at first glance one can think it is an environmental portrait, but it isn't. It is a frozen instant depicting two singular characters just starting to climb the hill of life, very different characters with a common virtue, spontaneity and hart genuineness. They are very close friends, to observe them interacting like if they were isolated of the entire world is a refreshing, emotive experience. Thank you very much for your detailed comment Fred.
