This makes me want to go somewhere!  Shots through airplane windows are really tough with the thickness, distortion, and polarizing.  Well done....  Mike

I really hate flying.....but I love to travel, so I just deal with it!  :-)   I never want to sit by the window, but my husband does.   He was the one who saw these clouds and called them to my attention.  Well, I literally gasped and couldn't get my camera out fast enough.  He leaned back and I quickly shot a few shots.  I'm thrilled they turned out because I had never seen anything so magnificent!  Thanks for commenting, and have a great weekend!

Mike....I agree, but I seem to recall a really great shot of yours taken from the window of a plane.  :-)

Christal, I know what you mean about flying, and it is not something I associate with beauty. You really nailed this one, an outstanding shot, I give you A+ for impact. I like the contrast between the metal wings and the soft cottony clouds with the excellent tonal range. I like the clean, sharp, focus. Good exposure and composition.

I recently spent 6 hours on a plane on a seat next to the washroom. All I saw was a lot rumpled, grumpy behinds.

Best wishes,

Linda

Wow! It looks like you could fall onto those clouds and wouldn't fall any further! They really are magnificent. These are real Ansel Adams clouds full of depth, contours and textures! You did very well photographing them so clear and well defined through the glass.

Sincere Compliments

Alf

It makes an impact for sure.  I've seen this sight many times, particularly on overseas flights when I want to arrive already am groggy, the sun has "gone down" and "come up" in a matter of a brief period of time, and I'm searching for land....  The clouds look awesome.  I too like travel

Christal, I am fond of taking shots of clouds, from aircraft. Admirable composition , very good exposure and color-contrast.

My sincere thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.  I'm glad you enjoy this as much as I do.  It was the most extraordinary sky I had ever seen, and it went on for miles.  If it hadn't been so hard to take pictures from the middle seat (asking my husband to lean out of the way), I would have taken a bunch more shots.

Alf.....very funny.......that's exactly what I told Norm......that it looked like you could fall down on them and just bounce off!

Thrillingly caught.  If you're going to have a panic attack in flight, you might as well enjoy yourself....

Great capture here Christal. I always try this when im flying, but I never get a clean defrosted window. The clouds are really facinating. cheers

Very interesting scene.  It must be very difficult but yours is very sharp.  Best Regards,
