I have just returned from a vacation on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. The most beautiful, colourful, place I have seen. I took so many pictures that I apparently wore out my camara. On the last day the auto focus on my Canon 7D stopped working and I had to resort to manual focusing which was interesting and challenging. This one was taken in auto focus.

Firstly, I hope the repairs to your camera are not too costly. Not an expense one really needs after a holiday abroad.

I am not a lover of frames, although every now and again, one does suit an image. Unfortunately, for me, this one does not. I feel that it over-brightens the image and detracts from what you are trying to portray.

The peacock himself, is very colourful and his habitat, quite exotic.... but I don't see where the yellow frames contributes to the scene, in terms of colour blending or enhancement. My eyes get drawn outwards and away from the subject.

Glad you had such a great holiday....... look forward to some more images......Hawaii is on my "bucket list".

Thanks so much for your honest, thoughtful comment. I really appreciate this kind of comment. I don't always frame images, I do think that that a good image should stand alone. Here, I was still in Hawaii mode where everything is so very colourful, bright and sunny that I just felt like adding a bit more here. You are probably right.

I hope you do go to Hawaii. We went to Kauai because it is called the "Garden Island". It is not as developed as the other islands, they are working on it though. The flora and fauna is amazing, flowers are everwhere, and birds... It is quiet and peaceful, doesn't have the night life that the others do.
