Beautiful capture and the rain drops increases my viewing pleasure. I am guessing that was taken either late in the afternoon or early in the morning. I have pre-visualized this one much darker which could bring a bit of drama and possibly better reflect the prevailing conditions.  All the best and thanks for commenting on my portrait image!

All C&C and ratings are quite welcome. As a serious hobbyist trying to

improve, I appreciate any ideas on how this shot would be better. Will

try to return the favor. Thanks

Tony, this was taken just after sunrise. The flower faced almost right at the sun. I will try a darker version via PS. Thanks for the idea. Dave

dave,  why this does not work so well for me,  would be because of the b/g flowers, especially one on right hand side,  being as it is also in focal range,  there is no separation between the two,  which makes the two bleed together.  the colors also do not look quite right to me,  but that could well be my monitor.  if you want to go further with this image,  i think the best thing to do would be to isolate lead flower and try dropping it on a suitable b/g.  black pops to mind,  but am sure you could come up with something suitable on your own. i also like the drops but think they appear a bit flat here. hope you don't think i'm rubbishing your image,  i took your statement on how you could improve this image to heart,  but i am only one opinion.

Roger, your critique for my Colorado Flower is exactly what I am hoping members will do - give honest thoughts and ideas to improve. I really want to learn and believe you learn best through mistakes. I truly appreciate you pointing out things you feel I could have done better. Feel free anytime to do the same thing!!

Thanks Dave
