This is again  Patrique Cohen Aknin, from France ,a skilled  violinst, a virtuoso and  the conductor of this very nice and complicated concert.

I think that in this  uploads I was able to express( in photographs) the feeling of music,   the feeling of musician concentration while performing! Thanks to the great Baroque era  concerts, and musicians!

 Thanks for viewing.

Hi Pnina, I love the expression, he does look fully engaged and intensly involved with his work. The tender way he holds the violin in one hand, the movement in the other is also beautifully captured. I like the lighting, the illumination of the face, hands and tie is excellent, it adds drama to the whole image and also brings focus to the important elements. Perhaps the musician on the right could be a little more blurred and/or darkened, just a humble suggestion, not sure though, he does add to the story. In any case I think this is a beautiful, sensitive portrait. Well done.

I have been away on vacation for the past two weeks. I am catching up on what my friends have been up to.

Best wishes,

Linda

Pnina, both your photographs and written descriptions express your joy in these musicians.   His portrait, the lovely jewel tones and the other man's expression suggest contemplative concentration -- a harmony.  I like Linda's suggestion of what to do with the musician in the background, but it would be a different photo, and it would negate his presence and disturb what you've transmitted in the mood.  Bravo on capturing that slight movement of his right hand, which changes the dynamics.  One nit... the left eye looks a tad -- "tip tipa" oddly captured.

Pierre and Kallol, I don't use artificial lights just high ISO in general, and in   the theater and museum especially ,thanks for reffering to it.

Linda I'm  glad to see you here, thanks for your nice written impressions. I try always to add another musician near,  for two reasons, the first:  as he is the conductor I like to add  another musician close by  as I think it adds to the feeling of the  concert. The second reason, it is easier as all of them are seating very close to each other , and it helps me to express the mood.

Donna, thanks as well for expressing your point of view. What I write to Linda I think will answer you too. Thanks for your help with his eye...as I looked into it by enlarging it, and it looks fine  but it was the angle I was seating and  photographing,  even so I tried  to make it look better....;-))

Jorg, my answer to Linsda and Donna will answer your point of view, I hope ;-))

Pnina, you are an expert in capturing the mood of the artists- be it singer or dancer. While they are on stage, they are in a world of their own. You enter their  domain to capture the essence of their personality. Therein lies your mastery over the camera.

I am not original and repeat the same at your photos - an excellent image, full of emotion and is a great presentation of an artist. I always admire the control of light.

Very nice shot. Pnina. I know how difficult it is to attain such clarity under difficult indoor lighting conditions. The fact that his hair is silver (like mine or at least what's left of it) helps lift him from the dark background..

Nice shot indeed, Pnina. I too like the concentration & emotional involvement seen on Mr. Aknin's face... I echo Jack in saying that the clarity of the photo is very nice, especially given the (what I imagine must be) challenging light situation...My only nit would be that I think a slight crop from the LHS (on the middle of his sleeve) might possibly enhance the composition even more...(as I find the (lower) left corner slightly distracting to the eye & the essentials of the overall frame...)

Thanks all of you for your nice written impression.

Marjolein, I would like to explain to you why I left the red  point near the middle of his sleeve...I thoght that it is a compositional point and  an " answer" to the red tie of the second musician, your suggestion of cours is  another right  possibility....;-))
