On this little rise in the hills north of Siauliai, Lithuania, pilgrims and

newlyweds and mourners of the deceased plant thousands of crosses

anywhere from a few inches tall to 3 meters or more. The tour I was on

had a 20 minute stop here. I got off the bus with my dslr and it went

kaput after my first shot. I had left my backup point&shoot on the bus

which was parked a quarter a mile away in a holding area and wouldn't

return until our scheduled departure. I chugged up the hill, found the bus

and got my backup. Made it back to the site with time for about 6 shots.

And, if you want to plant your own cross, there are a multitude of

vendors that will sell you a cross of varying quality, size and cost.

As a matter of fact the composition is perfectly well done, by the rules and the spectacle is most impressive! Congratulations GJ!

Best regards!
