Surface Tension Photo Water Drops

Surface tension squeezes a stream of water into drops as it falls from my

kitchen faucet. Tripod mounted Canon 7D, 100MM 2.8 macro @2.8, 1/125,

580 Ex flash and flashlight from the side provided illumination. Background

is a colorful cookie tin on its side.

Fascinating study - love the way the background colours are concentrated in the water.  Thanks also for the technical information.

I've seen so many different 'kitchen experiments' with fantastic results.  I keep telling my husband that one day we need to just start 'playing' in the kitchen and see what creative ideas we can come up with.  This is outstanding and serves as a great inspiration!  I like the you've changed (I presume) the shot to a horizontal.....it makes a really dynamic shot! This looks like spun glass. It is amazing. Some day, maybe, I will achieve this kind of work of art.
